Behind the Scenes
D. Marcos Saavedra is a Los Angeles based editor, DP, writer and director.
His recent editing work includes: Of Hearts and Castles directed by Ruben Navarro, Day 74 for the Nate Parker Foundation Film Institute, Harper Finch, nominated for Best Editing at the 2019 First Glance Film Festival in Los Angeles; Bless the USA for Outfest's OutSet program; and, the HBCU Storytellers documentary series for the Nate Parker Foundation Film Institute. He's currently collaborating on an LGBTQ documentary, Sissy, serving as editor, DP and co-producer.
Marcos was recognized when his short film, Damsel, made the Top 250 Round of the HBO Project Greenlight Directing Contest out of 1,733 entries. He also earned 2nd Place for Best National News Story as Producer from the National Association of College Broadcasters.
Marcos has his B.A. in Communication with a concentration in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas - Pan American. He also spent several years working at Sony Pictures Entertainment in Culver City supporting post-production. He continues to serve as editor, cinematographer and director on various projects, including titles of his own in development.
